BI Incorporated acquires Protocol Government Solutions

BI Incorporated (BI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The GEO Group, Inc., the world’s leading provider of correctional, detention, and community reentry services, today announced that it has acquired Aurora, Ill.-based Protocol Government Solutions, a firm that has served the criminal justice field since 1993.
Protocol provides call center and case management services for community corrections agencies that offer electronic monitoring for criminal offenders and pre-trial defendants released to community supervision. BI and Protocol have collaborated in many jurisdictions, including in Colorado and Illinois, since 2003.
Established in 1978, BI works with more than 1,700 correctional agencies nationwide. BI offers more than a dozen electronic monitoring systems, including ExacuTrack® One, a GPS tracking system typically used on high-risk offenders; BI TAD®, a ankle-worn device that monitors sobriety continuously; SOBERLINK SL2, a handheld alcohol monitoring system; and traditional electronic monitoring systems such as BI HomeGuard® 200, a system that monitors curfews and schedules. BI has more than 750 employees and Protocol has 185.
BI also operates a call center, called BI Monitoring Operations, in Anderson, Ind. “BI and Protocol have rich histories supporting community corrections agencies,” said Ann Schlarb, BI Divisional Vice President. “We will work closely to share expertise in an attempt to assist our customers in their public safety efforts.”
Protocol will become a division of BI. Henry Conforti, currently Vice President of Operations at Protocol, was named BI Vice President of Protocol Operations.
